You can’t touch your toes, and you want to
If you can’t get anywhere near the ground when you bend forward, or you just feel stuck and tight and want to start functioning normally again, this is where a lot of people begin. It is a low-commitment way to dip your toes into self-care, no big overhaul required, just consistent, guided work on your range of motion.
Starts on its own, folds into massage later.
Facilitated stretching stands on its own at first. Many clients spend a few months on it before folding it into a full massage session.
Essential Reset
A focused stretching session, or stretching added onto one or two key areas.
Holistic Balance
Where stretching usually ends up once you start pairing it with massage work.
Ultimate Renewal
Full-body massage with extended stretching woven throughout.
Why assisted stretching gets you further
On your own, your nervous system limits how far a muscle will let go, it is a built-in safety brake. With me actively moving your limb through a stretch while you gently resist and release on cue, we can safely work past that limit, which is why this gets further than stretching by yourself ever will.
A great place to start, not just for athletes
This is a regular part of sessions for runners and lifters, but most of the people I see for facilitated stretching are not athletes at all, they just want to move better and stay ahead of problems instead of reacting to them.

The start of figuring out what you actually want
I am Mickie, a licensed massage therapist with 6+ years and thousands of sessions behind me. This is a great way to figure out the best path forward for taking care of yourself. Some people stay right here, coming in regularly to maintain their range of motion. Others move into full massage work over time. Either is a good outcome.
You leave knowing more about your own body every time, with simple guidance to carry the progress forward.
What facilitated stretching looks like here.
Hands-on, paced to your range, never forced.
We Talk First
Where you feel stuck or stiff, and what movement you are trying to get back.
We Warm the Muscle
A few minutes of hands-on work so the tissue is ready to actually lengthen.
We Move Through the Range
I guide the stretch while you resist and release on cue, only as far as is productive.
You Leave With Simple Homework
A couple of stretches to hold onto the range you just gained.
Assisted, hands-on stretching where I move your limb through a range of motion while cueing you to gently resist and then relax, which releases the muscle further than stretching on your own.
Yes, most people who come in for this are not athletes. It is for anyone who feels stiff, wants better mobility, or wants to be proactive about their body instead of waiting for an injury.
Most people see meaningful change within a few sessions, and a lot of clients spend around six months building real range of motion before folding it into a full massage session.
It should feel like productive tension, not pain. You are never pushed past what is safe, and we go at your pace the entire time.
Not necessarily. Some clients stay with stretching alone and just come in more or less often, others fold it into an hour-long massage, and some pair it with the massage gun. There is no one required next step.
